Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using BeyondViet ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access the Service.

Description of Service

BeyondViet is a scenario-based conversation facilitation app designed to help travelers and expats communicate with Vietnamese speakers through structured, bidirectional device handoff.

The Service is NOT:

  • ✗A real-time translation service
  • ✗An audio phrase playback app
  • ✗A guarantee of successful communication

User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • •Use the Service in good faith for legitimate communication purposes
  • •Respect local customs and cultural norms
  • •Not use the Service for illegal activities or to defraud others
  • •Not attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or exploit the Service
  • •Verify critical information (especially for allergies or medical needs)

Medical and Safety Disclaimer

IMPORTANT

While we provide severity warnings for allergies and medical conditions, BeyondViet is NOT a medical device and should NOT be your only method of communicating life-threatening conditions. Always carry medical alert cards and inform medical professionals directly when possible.

We make reasonable efforts to communicate allergy severity, but we cannot guarantee perfect understanding or compliance by food vendors. You use the Service at your own risk.

Offline Functionality

Core scenarios work offline. However:

  • •Map features require internet connection
  • •Some cultural context may not be available offline
  • •Updates and new scenarios require internet to download

Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by BeyondViet and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not:

  • ✗Copy or redistribute our content
  • ✗Create derivative apps based on our scenarios
  • ✗Remove our branding or copyright notices

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BeyondViet shall not be liable for:

Miscommunication or misunderstanding using the Service
Financial losses from negotiations or transactions
Allergic reactions or medical emergencies
Lost data, device damage, or other technical issues
Actions taken by third parties you interact with

The Service is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

Acceptable Use

You may NOT use the Service to:

  • ✗Harass, threaten, or deceive others
  • ✗Engage in illegal activities
  • ✗Attempt scams or fraud
  • ✗Violate local laws or regulations
  • ✗Exploit vulnerabilities in the app

Violation may result in immediate termination of access.

Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to:

  • •Modify or discontinue features
  • •Add or remove scenarios
  • •Change pricing for paid features (with notice)
  • •Update these Terms (with notification)

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Vietnam, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Service shall first be resolved through good faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes will be settled through arbitration in Vietnam.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes via email (for waitlist members) or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of new Terms.
